Happy Halloween

Two more days and  it's time to bring out your costumes, candies and share scary stories because its Halloween! By this time, people are already busy preparing and decorating their home while the kiddos are already  looking and shopping for their costume. Here at the office, we've decided that we're going for the "Plants Vs. Zombies" theme...sorry I couldn't post any pictures yet because the place is still a bit messy.  The awarding for the best group theme will be later at 1 pm, too bad I won't be able to participate and witness the awarding since I'm about to go home after an hour and my next shift will be at 9 pm. The department also prepared candies for the little kids since some of our colleagues's kiddos will be coming here later for Trick or Treat.

Since this is the perfect time for wearing costumes, I'll be sharing some old pictures when I was all dressed up as Snow White.

We even had a very short presentation. I remember having a video of the whole skit but I can't seem to find it.

I miss being with these guys...one of the best people I've worked with.
And in case you're wondering, that red round thing...it's not a tomato, it was supposed to be an apple...huge huge apple! =)

How bout you, who do you want to be this coming Halloween?

Sweet Day to you All!

Let's Zumba!

Just in case you're wondering what I am up to lately and what makes me feel good everyday...do you know? Blame it on Zumba!

Zumba is a dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez in Colombia during the 1990s. The program combines Latin and international music with dance in an effort to make exercise fun. Zumba classes are offered through licensed instructors in more than 60,000 fitness center locations in 105 countries and seven-and-a-half million participants.[1] DVDs are also available for learning at home. Classes and instructional DVDs use music based on salsamerenguecumbiareggaeton, samba and other international music styles and forms.  The Zumba program is recognized by the America's leading fitness educators, including the Aerobic Fitness Association of AmericaIDEA Health and Fitness Association, and the American Council on Exercise.[2]  ***(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

I'm currently on my 2nd week now and guys, trust me this is really fun. You don't have to worry  if you have two left feet, the video will show you how to do the basic steps for all kinds of music be it salsa, reggaeton or even merengue- my favorite! Currently, Zumba is a major hit in other countries, I just hope that they can offer it soon in Philippines. Although I have read it in girltalk that Gold's gym now offers Zumba classes I am not so sure though.  For now, I am doing my workout by watching  their videos, I was able to get a copy of Zumba Fitness' Total Body Transformation System DVD.

How bout you, what type of work out do you do to keep your body in shape?
For you guys who loves to dance, then I highly recommend you to try this...so what are you waiting for? Let's Zumba!

Sweet day to you all!

HongKong Adventure

Before anything else, I would like to greet you...yes you, all of you my beautiful readers  a happy day! I missed you all and missed my blog too! It has been two months since my last update. Sorry guys, I've been a little busy and VERY lazy for the past two months...I guess I needed a break. Oh wait, I just had my vacation last August but it was just a short one, I guess it's better than no vacation at all.
Last August Sweets, Toots and yours truly went to Hong Kong for a short vacation. We've been preparing for our trip for weeks and we even drafted a sample Itinerary just to make sure we manage our time wisely while roaming around the city, you see...we have a very limited time we only have 2 days to roam the city and on our 3rd day, we have an early flight going home.

We arrived at the airport at 10 in the morning, The airport is very big and when I say big I mean HUGE! You even have to ride a train just to go to Immigration.  It was already 11:30 when we finished all the requirements and things we needed to do first before going to the hotel to check-in, that is,  (money changer, octopus cards etc.).   On our first day, we went to The Peak, HK Museum, Avenue of Stars, Harbour City and Night Market. Oh and our timing was perfect because almost all stores are on sale and most outlet stores are on 70% off! Perfect isn't it? As for the next day, we've decided to to go Ngong Ping 360 and DisneyLand. I will just post another entry about the different places we've been to since there's so much story to tell and one blog post is not enough =)
Before the trip, most of my friends and officemates who have been to HK, warned us that most people there do not speak english and most of them are rude.  Well, I have to agree that not all can speak English but about the rude part--I am sorry but I have to disagree. Maybe some people are rude but, you can also see a lot of rude people here in the Philippines right? These kind of people are everywhere and too bad we can't get rid of them right? So, it's just the same in HK. In fact, we even met 3 kind hearted people who helped us out.  The first person who helped us  was an old lady and she's a HK national,  we asked her for direction on how to go to Jordan exit and the old lady can hardly speak English but she was kind enough to help and answer our questions even if she is having a hard time explaining, and what made her an angel is that she even walked with us and showed us the way to the Hotel. The second person is an OFW, when she found out that we were from PI, she was very helpful in giving us direction and which elevator to take. And lastly, the third person was a young guy and he's a HK national too. He gave us the direction on how to go to harbour city mall and he told us that since he was too early to meet up with his wife at the mall, he can help us and get us a taxi to go to harbour city since our legs and feet can no longer walk due to exhaustion.  These people are very kind and we really do appreciate all the help!
It was my first time to travel outside the country so it was really fun and memorable. I definitely am going back to HK and when I do, I wish to take my Mom, Sis and Sweets. And if anyone of you is generous enough to send me free roundtrip tickets, I will greatly appreciate it! hahaha!

Thank god it's Friday and have a sweeeet day to you all!

Ooohh La La Lashes

The first thing that I look at a person is his/her eyes. You can simply read the person's personality and feelings through his eyes. It is a reflection of what a person feels inside. Since the eyes are the mirror of the soul, why not prettify your eyes!    I have always wanted to have a thick, long and curled eyelashes ---badly! I know that it is almost impossible to grow long eyelashes and too bad, I was not blessed for having a medium length lashes just like my mom's. But thank goodness, I found the perfect solution  Eyelash Extension!
I asked my good friend, Charlene as to where I could get an eyelash extension. I want mine to be done by experts since our eyes are very sensitive. I asked her if she already heard about iLash Salon. She told me that most of her friends from work go there for extensions and she really recommends the salon. And you know what happened next -- APPOINTMENT!

At the salon.....the application...
At first, they will be asking you what type of extensions do you want. You can choose from Fine Natural and Mascara Effect. For each type, you will also be asked what length you prefer they have: short, medium and long.
I picked medium length with mascara effect since I am very fond curling my lashes and wearing mascara..this would really save me a lot of time. They will also be asking you to fill out a card for their records and ask you to read the details on how the process works before they let you to go inside the room.

First thing...you have to lie down on their reclining couch (which was very comfy) all throughout the application.  They will ask you to look up so they can apply tape to cover your lower lashes and around the eyes that will serve as their guide before applying the extensions. If you feel any stinging during the process, you have to inform them right away so that they could do some remedy quickly.
The whole process takes 1 and a half hour to 2 hours for Mascara effect while for the Natural lashes, it would only take an hour.

And while the staff was busy applying the tape, I didn't know that Cha was also busy taking my pictures!

Me and Cha (with her newly treated hair) Look at her smile...she's actually having fun taking pictures without me knowing it! But thanks to her though, I have pictures to post in this entry =)

After the application, you will be advised to not to wet your lashes for 12 hours,   You cannot curl your lashes and even apply mascara. You can still apply eyeliner but make sure to not to use liquid and cream based liners. Anyway, you won't be needing them anymore. ☺ They will also be giving you an After-care instructions on a piece of paper.  You also need to go back every 2 or 3 weeks for touch ups.
The VERDICT
I super L-O-V-E it! The extensions emphasized and opened up my chinita eyes. With these extensions having a long, thick and perfectly curled lashes is very easy.
I had mine done for only 800 Pesos (about $17.29) instead of a thousand pesos (about $21.61) since they have a 20% promo. Not bad at all!
Even though washing my face takes a lil longer because you really have to be very careful to not let the lashes wet or you can't just simply rub your eyes and you have to be very conscious when sleeping, it still feels great to wake up with beautiful lashes!
How about you? What are your thoughts about eyelash extensions? If you have tried it, how was it?
Keep on smiling and have a sweet day ya'll!

Nail Art for Beginners: Pink and Black combo

Beautiful day everyone! Most of you already know that I love wearing nail colors and to further enhance my addiction to nail polishes, I am now learning how to do nail arts. I've been watching youtube videos and reading blogs for nail art tutorial. It doesn't really require you to have a steady hands, practice is all you need my friend! Anyway, I would like to show you how to do a simple nail art design just like the picture below, this is for beginners like me.

First and foremost, apply a base coat to protect your nails from getting all yellowish. I used TFS's Nail Strengthener.

Apply your base color. I want to create a gothic but chic and sassy look so I came up with a Pink and Black Combo. I used Caronia's Claret for the Pink and Caronia's Black Velvet. The shade of Claret is a bit darker than the usual Hot Pink. But of course, you can use any shade of pink preferably neon pink or hot pink but I would discourage you from using any light pink and baby pink shades since the color won't turn out great, remember we want a bit of goth. =) Then let it dry. You have to make sure that the nails are really, really dry.

Then get a tape, you can either use a scotch tape or masking tape. Then stick it to your nail as a guide to create a straight diagonal line like this:

Get your black nail polish and apply the polish from the masking tape to the tip of your nails. It should look like this: (I'm still waiting for the nail polish in my middle finger to dry before I could stick the masking tape).

Gently remove the masking tape. No need to wait for the polish to dry, just remember to take it off slowly.

To add more design, if you have a dotting tool you can add 3 pink dots on the black part of your nails, it is up to you on how you want the dots to appear. As for me, I want it in a slant position. Sweethearts, you can be resourceful too! If you do not have any dotting tool, you could use ballpen, toothpick or just about anything with a sharp tip. I couldn't find any ballpen when I was doing the design and I saw my eyeshadow's sponge applicator so I just used the tip to dot. (I'm not using it anyway..hahaha!)

Lastly, once the dots are all dry, seal the design with a clear base or top coat. I used TFS's Top Coat. Just let it dry and you're done!

I hope you liked my simple nail art tutorial, this is really easy...try it guys!

Keep on smiling and have a sweet day to you all!

Girl's Night Out

Last friday, me and my elementary-high school friends had a post birthday celebration and thanksgiving dinner for Kate.  She turned 29 years old young last May 11.  The celebration was a month late because most of us were busy while the others are already mommies and they have a baby below 1 year old.  But at least the dinner pushed through.  Aside from her special day, we have another reason to celebrate...Kate just got promoted to Asst. Manager in Citibank Savings Bank, and we are all very happy for her, from the very start we knew that she'll go a long way.

We had our dinner at Gazebo Grille, this was Kate's choice because the owner of the resto is one of their clients.  All of them arrived around 6:00 to 6:30 in the evening and I arrived there quarter to 7 since I have to wait for Mommy and sis to come home so I could use the car.

Here are some of the pictures as we wait for our orders.

Finally our orders have arrived! =^_^= Before beginning the feast, of course we need to let Kate have her thank you speech.

And here's our picture after....we all look bloated...oh the tummy! :X

Abe's Farm

Last May 29, me and my friends at work went to the Abe's Farm to attend the christening of our department manager's first born. Well actually we didn't attend the christening at the church because the time was too early and we haven't slept yet, just in case you didn't know I'm on a Graveyard Schedule so we ended up attending the reception instead. It was my first time to go to Magalang and boy it was a long drive, it took us 20 to 40 minutes just to get there.

If you want to escape all the hustle and bustle of city life and you want to relax in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere well then my friend this is the place to be! The Restaurant offers authentic Campampangan dishes and they are really famous for their Fern Salad, it is really a must try. If you want to spend the night with the comfort of living in a mountain home, they also offer accomodation where you can choose from Ifugao Hut down to their regular rooms. And if you would like to de-stress, they also have Spa.

I'm not really a huge fan of Kapampangan dishes so I would have to say that the food is not that extravagant, its just okay, but the Fern Salad was great though. If you're gonna ask me if I will visit the place again I would say Hell Yeah because of the dessert - Ube Halaya with Macapuno, it was the best Ube Halaya I that I ever tasted! ( I am a huge fan of Ube Halaya ☺) If you are not familiar with this it's just a purple yam but it really tastes good! hmmnnn....heavenly~

Let the pictures speak for themselves:  I have my cam with me but I didn't took a lot of pictures because of the weather, it was really humid and a migraine attack was slowly kicking in. But thanks to my officemates, they were able to take some snapshots from the event.

My Nail Care Routine

Every girl wants to have posh nails. And in order for us to do that, we have to learn how to properly care for our nails. I have always been a Nail Color addict, I regularly change my nail color every 2 weeks. For me, having a fab nails boosts my self confidence. Well, who amoung us doesn't feel good when we have a great set of nails to show off? In this entry I will be sharing my ways on how to care for those gorgeous nails. Remember: Beautiful natural looking nails require care, proper ways of manicuring and of course TLC♥

A shortish nail that is straight across the top with rounded edges is the current in style shape. The general rule of thumb is to keep the free edge of the nail (white tip) no longer than half the length of the nail bed which is the pinkish part. For those who want longer nails, nail hardener with nylon fibers is very useful in minimizing breaks.

Here are some tips on how to care for your nails:

♪  Clean and Polish free Nails.  First step is to make sure that your nails are free from any nail color. If you have nail polish on, make sure you remove it first. Use a cottonball and a nail polish remover, then press over the nails for a few seconds before you rub, it will soften the nail color and it would be much easier to remove. And please do not use Acetone, this would make your nails dry and brittle. As for me I've been using TFS Nail Enamel Remover in Pink.

Next, wash your hands thoroughly. Use a brush or a toothbrush to gently scrub away stubborn dirt under the nails. But, of course you have to use a different toothbrush from the one that you actually use to brush your teeth on...that's ewwwiiieee...disgusting hahaha).

♪  File.  File each nail tip from corner to center. Do not file back and forth or in a "see-saw" motion as this weaken the nails which would cause ridges and splitting.

♪ Buff. Do not forget to buff your nails to give them a shinier look. Start at the cuticle down to the tip but please make sure that you do not put too much pressure and do not use back and forth motion.

♪ Cuticle. This one is really optional, I normally do not do this since I have a sensitive skin and leaving the cuticle could also prevent infections. But if you still would want to work on this, just make sure that you do not cut the cuticles or push them back too much. Hey our fingers needs protection too you know! ☺

Now that your nails are clean, here comes the exciting part, you are now ready to apply Nail Colors! Agree?

I'm wearing Blue and Stars today, well that is what I call the design. ☺

♫  Base Coat. Always apply a base coat to help keep the nail polish from chipping and to make it last longer. You can use any clear polish (top coat) or Nail strenghtener. Make sure to let it dry before applying nail polish.

Nail Strengthener - The Face Shop

♫  Apply Polish. Apply two coats of nail polish. You should be able to cover the nail in just three strokes, one on each side and then one in the middle. Make sure that the polish is dry before you apply another coat.

Sorry it looks a bit messy. I haven't cleaned the sides of the skin yet. ☺
Elianto's Blue Splash

Always allow your polish to dry thoroughly for several minutes before you apply the next coat. This will avoid the new coat from dragging on the surface of the previous coat and allow the next layer adhere better. Darker shades take longer to dry. Avoid fast drying polish. It does not last as long.

To add more spice, I applied 2 coats of TFS's Nail Color in PK107.

♫ Top Coat. Once your nail polish has dried, apply a clear Top Coat to seal it. Continue to apply the Top Coat daily to keep nails looking fresher longer.

And now were done! Here it is. Beauties, again forgive my messy nails. I was in a hurry and I didn't have enough time to clean the sides, I know its unforgivable but I know you love me. ☺☺☺

Products used:  PK107-TFS, Blue Splash-Elianto, Nail Strengthener-TFS and Top Coat-TFS.

So there, that is all you need to do to have a beautiful and natural looking nails. By the way, you can keep the nail polish on for about two weeks. How about you guys what are your beauty tips to keep your nails healthy and beautiful? Before I go, leave me leave you with some pictures of my favorite nail polish colors and design.
