Apple Crumble ala Chinadoll

(sorry guys, I left this post in my drafts for 4 days now..so it's a bit late hihihi)

◘ Apple Crumble topped with Vanilla Ice Cream ◘ yummy dessert for a beautiful Sunday  with the family and it's my advance monthsary treat for Sweets. Actually we do not celebrate monthsaries but we do greet each other...so there...I want to make it different this time so I decided to make an Apple Crumble.

I called thisApple Crumble ala Chinadoll because I tweaked the recipe a lil' bit. In case you haven't noticed the topping is crumblier  because I added a few cups of oatmeal. In every bite you can taste the sweetness of the apple and cinnamon while the topping gives you the perfect crisp that would keep you asking for more. For those who love oatmeal cookies this is perfect for you. :)
How bout you guys, what do you enjoy most during weekends with your loved ones?
Have a great weekend everyone!

Fresh, Radiant and of course Youthful!

Lately, I've been sporting "Barely there or No Make up" look. It is the most popular look here in Asia and this is a very popular trend with Korean Actresses. Sporting a barely there or no makeup look makes you look fresh, radiant and of course youthful!

Here are the main products that I use to enhance my features and get that natural glow. :)

1. I apply my day moisturizer first then after 5 minutes I apply the sunscreen and wait for it to dry.
2.  HydroSplash BB Cream from The Face Shop:  Only apply a small amount - pea size is enough for the entire face and neck. Remember a little goes a long way. At first it might make your face a little lighter but don't worry, most BB creams require some time to adjust to your skin tone. Btw, I love this BB cream because it gives you a dewy finish and it's water based.
3. The Face Shop Finishing Powder in Light Beige: Apply onto the face using a huge Powder Brush. Just make sure you apply only the right amount of powder, we just want to set the BB cream and we want to create a dewy finish.
4. The Face Shop Eyelash Curler: Curl your lashes and apply Mascara. I used Maybelline's Volume Express
5. Redefine your brows. I used Maybelline's Brow Definist
6. TFS Blush in Pink: I am pretty obssessed with pale pink blushes and this blusher gives exactly the natural glow that I'm looking for. This is my new favorite! =)
7.  To finish the whole look, of course do not forget the lipstick! If you want to have that all natural look, you can opt for nude or coral shades. But for a more dramatic look, go for Red lippies. I used Nyx Round Lipstick in Snow White.

I really don't use concealers because I'm really having trouble looking for the right shade for me. Most concealers appear to be darker than my skin tone so I'm still looking for the perfect one hihihi....but for those who have dark circles around the eye area and if you need to cover some blemishes or dark spots, you need to conceal them first before applying the finishing powder.

Remember girls, radiant natural beauty never goes out of style.
P.S. The products in the picture above were all bought by Sweets. Pretty sweet huh? hihihi

The Perfect Chocolates for Heart's Day

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and a lot of people out there are already thinking of how they will spend their Happy Heart's Day with their special someone or perhaps family (who said that valentines is only for couples?). As for me, I prefer celebrating it before or after Valentines for one main reason....I don't like crowded places. When dining out, I prefer quiet and cozy place where I could relax, enjoy the food and have a good time with my man. Going out on Vday is a little bit stressful for me...I know I'm such a bore...boo hoo! But I do enjoy one thing though...Flowers and Chocolates of course, it just brings out the "kilig and super mega huge smile" in me. For the past three years that Sweets and I have been together, I always feel nervous and excited every Valentine's day whenever I hear the doorbell ring, I get pretty excited and nervous at the same time..he never fails to send me flowers or chocolates. It's an old tradition but hey, it always works...no matter how "dry and boring" the person can be.

For those who are busy and have no time to go to shops to buy chocolates, why not try to shop online and have it delivered. I found a shop that offers the same service - Chocolates by Benoit. They offer freshly made, Belgian chocolates made by a Belgian chocolatier - Benoit Nicolay. And they deliver anywhere in the Philippines. Easy right?

How bout you guys, what are your plans this coming Valentines day?

Red Velvet Love

For the past 4 years I'm always accepting orders from my mom's friends, they seem to love my cheesecakes and carrot cake so much that they consistently order every year. But last December, I want to try something new - Red Velvet cupcakes! And you wanna know why? It's simple, it's the latest craze!

It's also a good thing that my mom keeps her old, tried and tested cake recipes and believe me it's really convenient. I followed her original recipe but I confess I made some adjustments specially the cocoa, I only used a little because I don't want my red velvet cuppies to look reddish brown. I want the red to be very vibrant!

Red Velvet Cupcake with Cream Cheese Frosting
This was the first RV cupcake that I baked. I didn't get the "vibrant red" that I wanted to so I still have to tweak the ingredients a little bit to get the color that I desire but of course, I have to make sure that the texture and taste of the cake would still be the same - moist and velvety!

I was able to bring some of the cupcakes in the office to check if my officemates would like it. I also asked them for any suggestions or if there are any improvements that are needed. And I am happy that they were all pleased and liked it!

Red Velvet Cake and Cupcakes made specially for my friend/officemate's 30th birthday. And of course, special thanks to my fellow blogger and friend Aidisan for the very cute cupcake tower.

And then friends and co-workers started placing their orders....

and some more.....These were some of the orders made last New Year.
I was able to bake a total of 21 dozen Red Velvet Cupcakes last Christmas and 12 dozen last New Year.

How bout you guys, do you like Red Velvet Cupcakes?
