Abe's Farm

Last May 29, me and my friends at work went to the Abe's Farm to attend the christening of our department manager's first born. Well actually we didn't attend the christening at the church because the time was too early and we haven't slept yet, just in case you didn't know I'm on a Graveyard Schedule so we ended up attending the reception instead. It was my first time to go to Magalang and boy it was a long drive, it took us 20 to 40 minutes just to get there.

If you want to escape all the hustle and bustle of city life and you want to relax in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere well then my friend this is the place to be! The Restaurant offers authentic Campampangan dishes and they are really famous for their Fern Salad, it is really a must try. If you want to spend the night with the comfort of living in a mountain home, they also offer accomodation where you can choose from Ifugao Hut down to their regular rooms. And if you would like to de-stress, they also have Spa.

I'm not really a huge fan of Kapampangan dishes so I would have to say that the food is not that extravagant, its just okay, but the Fern Salad was great though. If you're gonna ask me if I will visit the place again I would say Hell Yeah because of the dessert - Ube Halaya with Macapuno, it was the best Ube Halaya I that I ever tasted! ( I am a huge fan of Ube Halaya ☺) If you are not familiar with this it's just a purple yam but it really tastes good! hmmnnn....heavenly~

Let the pictures speak for themselves:  I have my cam with me but I didn't took a lot of pictures because of the weather, it was really humid and a migraine attack was slowly kicking in. But thanks to my officemates, they were able to take some snapshots from the event.

My Nail Care Routine

Every girl wants to have posh nails. And in order for us to do that, we have to learn how to properly care for our nails. I have always been a Nail Color addict, I regularly change my nail color every 2 weeks. For me, having a fab nails boosts my self confidence. Well, who amoung us doesn't feel good when we have a great set of nails to show off? In this entry I will be sharing my ways on how to care for those gorgeous nails. Remember: Beautiful natural looking nails require care, proper ways of manicuring and of course TLC♥

A shortish nail that is straight across the top with rounded edges is the current in style shape. The general rule of thumb is to keep the free edge of the nail (white tip) no longer than half the length of the nail bed which is the pinkish part. For those who want longer nails, nail hardener with nylon fibers is very useful in minimizing breaks.

Here are some tips on how to care for your nails:

♪  Clean and Polish free Nails.  First step is to make sure that your nails are free from any nail color. If you have nail polish on, make sure you remove it first. Use a cottonball and a nail polish remover, then press over the nails for a few seconds before you rub, it will soften the nail color and it would be much easier to remove. And please do not use Acetone, this would make your nails dry and brittle. As for me I've been using TFS Nail Enamel Remover in Pink.

Next, wash your hands thoroughly. Use a brush or a toothbrush to gently scrub away stubborn dirt under the nails. But, of course you have to use a different toothbrush from the one that you actually use to brush your teeth on...that's ewwwiiieee...disgusting hahaha).

♪  File.  File each nail tip from corner to center. Do not file back and forth or in a "see-saw" motion as this weaken the nails which would cause ridges and splitting.

♪ Buff. Do not forget to buff your nails to give them a shinier look. Start at the cuticle down to the tip but please make sure that you do not put too much pressure and do not use back and forth motion.

♪ Cuticle. This one is really optional, I normally do not do this since I have a sensitive skin and leaving the cuticle could also prevent infections. But if you still would want to work on this, just make sure that you do not cut the cuticles or push them back too much. Hey our fingers needs protection too you know! ☺

Now that your nails are clean, here comes the exciting part, you are now ready to apply Nail Colors! Agree?

I'm wearing Blue and Stars today, well that is what I call the design. ☺

♫  Base Coat. Always apply a base coat to help keep the nail polish from chipping and to make it last longer. You can use any clear polish (top coat) or Nail strenghtener. Make sure to let it dry before applying nail polish.

Nail Strengthener - The Face Shop

♫  Apply Polish. Apply two coats of nail polish. You should be able to cover the nail in just three strokes, one on each side and then one in the middle. Make sure that the polish is dry before you apply another coat.

Sorry it looks a bit messy. I haven't cleaned the sides of the skin yet. ☺
Elianto's Blue Splash

Always allow your polish to dry thoroughly for several minutes before you apply the next coat. This will avoid the new coat from dragging on the surface of the previous coat and allow the next layer adhere better. Darker shades take longer to dry. Avoid fast drying polish. It does not last as long.

To add more spice, I applied 2 coats of TFS's Nail Color in PK107.

♫ Top Coat. Once your nail polish has dried, apply a clear Top Coat to seal it. Continue to apply the Top Coat daily to keep nails looking fresher longer.

And now were done! Here it is. Beauties, again forgive my messy nails. I was in a hurry and I didn't have enough time to clean the sides, I know its unforgivable but I know you love me. ☺☺☺

Products used:  PK107-TFS, Blue Splash-Elianto, Nail Strengthener-TFS and Top Coat-TFS.

So there, that is all you need to do to have a beautiful and natural looking nails. By the way, you can keep the nail polish on for about two weeks. How about you guys what are your beauty tips to keep your nails healthy and beautiful? Before I go, leave me leave you with some pictures of my favorite nail polish colors and design.

May Celebration

May is a very busy month with a lot of birthday Celebration. To start off, last May 3 was my Sweet's special day. And of course, one of the best way to celebrate his birthday is to eat out and shopping =).  Good thing, labor day was moved to this day since I don't have to report to work. Yay for the uber long weekend! So there, we just ate lunch at Pepper Steak House @ Marquee Mall, then after we've satisfied our cravings, we went to 3rd floor to check out the cellphone shops. I even got confused on which phone I should get, my first choice was the Blackberry Bold 9700, then Nokia E72 and lastly Samsung Omnia i910HD. In the end we left the mall empty handed...still thinking which one would be perfect for me. Then we've decided to go to SM Clark to check out the cellshopes there, the price range of the stores are basically the same with the stores @ Marquee except in INBOX, their gadgets are soooo expensive! I don't know why their items are very costly when in fact the items they are selling are just the same with the other stores, even the warranty package, they're all the same. Anyway, I was able to finally buy the perfect phone for me -- Nokia N900.

♥Sweets♥

Mango and Watermelon Fruit shakes, Bay calamari for appetizer and 3 of Pepper Steak's famous signature sauces.

Finally the main course =)

Stuffed and Bloated!

Another special day that we celebrated was last May 5, this time it was my Mom's birthday. We had a nice late family dinner at Maranao Grill (yes it was late because it was almost 9 pm alread). Just like what we usually do during dinner, aside from eating, we share stories, we have never ending stories to tell each other...and while we are enjoying our chitchat, my sister's and mom's phone is also busy, she's been getting a lot of phone calls from my cousins abroad. And when we finally came home, we had a little pictorial at our house.

♫ Tres Marias ♫

Last May 18, it was my Daddy's turn, it was his birthday. If he is still with us, he would be 60 years old by now. For further details, you can check out my previous post and it is all about him. =)

And lastly, Sweets and I celebrated our 3rd year Sweetsarry last May 22. Instead of saying anniversary I always say sweetsary, wanna know why? thats because it's unique and cute! At first, we have no idea on how we are going to celebrate it this year. For the past two years we always celebrated it by having a nice fine dinner @ Maranao Grill, but this time we want it differently. Sweet's plan was to have dinner at around 6 at C' Italian and after our dinner we can go to SM Clark to watch either Iron Man 2 or Shrek. I told Sweets that it will be much better if we skip the dinner part and just watch the two movies since we have a very limited time and I really want to watch the two movies :) So there, after work, he went to SM Clark to just wait for me there since he is just a few minutes away to the mall. And I of course am always late, I arrived around 6:30, we were supposed to watch the first movie (Shrek) at 6:10 pm hahahaha and because of that we have to wait for another hour for the next show time.  While waiting, we went to the department store to do some shopping. And when I say shopping it means Make Up shopping. Woohooo! Finally, I was able to buy Maybelline's Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Black, it has been out of stock for quite some time now, I also bought Clear Smooth Mineral Liquid Foundation in Rose white and Angelfit's 2 way foundation refill in Very Light Ochre, too bad their BB creams are currently out of stock, I only have 2-3 drops left so I really need to get a new one. BB creams are always out of stock, I hope they could restock immediately. In case you haven't notice all of the products are I use are all from Maybelline, I really love their products they're really affordarble and works well with my super sensitive skin. Oh, before I forgot, I also bought 1 eyeshadow brush and 1 blending brush from Marinaud, their brushes are really cheap but they're really soft. Its better than those Elf brushes. Okay, so after shopping we bought some foodies at KFC then headed to the movie house.   Good thing we already bought the tickets for both movies, it saves time rather than falling in line again to buy ticket for the next movie. So there, the first movie ended  around 8:45, then off to the next cinema to watch Iron Man 2 which was about to start in 15 minutes.  At the end of the day it was all perfect! We enjoyed the day not because of the food we ate, the things we--I'd rather say I (because all the stuff we bought are all mine hahaha) and the movies we watched. What made it special is because we spent the whole day together.

Till next time SweetHearts!
