Post ♥'s Day Dinner with Friends

Belated Happy Heart's day everyone....I know it's a bit late but hey the Love Month is not yet over so I guess this post is still reasonable.  Valentine's day is not just for lovers but for people who are capable to love.My Sweets and I did not even planned on having a dinner date, since we both have to report to work but he sent me a bouquet of  beautiful white roses. He did not send me any chocolates for one reason - it would ruin my diet LOL. But flowers are enough for me; its the thought and effort that counts. I guess we are not the only couple who did not have a dinner date,  I know a lot of people who spent their heart's day with their family and friends.

Me and my friends at work goes on a dinner date every month. Two of them already moved their cheese but we still make it a point to sit back, relax, enjoy the good food over never ending chit chats and of course, coffee time afterwards.  So for this time, we've decided to have a post valentine's dinner date since it is February and it was still close to ♥'s day.

Wishlist Granted!

Hello dolls! This post was supposed to be published after Christmas but I was too busy with a whole lot of things and at that time I don't have a picture to show you awesomeness♥ LOL.
Anyway, this is just a super quick post, I just want to give you an update regarding my wishlist. If you haven't read it, just click here. 


So there, I just want to share the good news! :) My wishlist was granted! How awesome is that? ♥♥♥ Finally, Sweets gave in and granted my wish. I definitely made the right choice of choosing an android phone over the ever popular iPhone. :) Not that I hate Apple gadgets, its just that I already have an iTouch 4th gen and I am extremely happy with it too. Oh, I just remembered that was my previous wishlist too, remember my letter to Santa? I wished for an iPod Nano but Sweets upgraded it to an iTouch 4th gen. :) 


Now, I can definitely say that I AM ANDROIDIZED! lol  

Of course I have to match it with my nail color too! Well, for pictorial purposes only hahaha

A Better and Improved Me

A decade ago I weighed 120 lbs and I was able to successfully maintain this weight not until year 2007. I slowly started to gain a few pounds every now and then...at first I thought that its just okay because I know I will eventually loose the pounds after a few weeks and boy I was wrong, I did not loose the pounds I thought I will be loosing instead I gained more and more. I've read it somewhere that as people grow older the slower their metabolism becomes and that causes people to gain more pounds.

If you are one of my long time readers, I am pretty sure you remember my mom buying me hoola hoop, jumping rope and so on since she is one who is more worried with me getting heavier each day lol! But I admit I am really lazy...I don't like doing exercises...I am the kind of person who gets excited at first then little by little the laziness is taking over me. My mom even bought me several home exercise DVDs such as Belly Dancing, Hip Hop Abs, and even Taebo. Nothing worked! Laziness has taken over me! It was okay not until last August 2011 where I weighed 146 lbs! I freaked out! I never imagined weighing this heavy.

September 2011, Sweets challenged me that if I can loose weight before my birthday, he will grant my wish list. At first the Target weight was 120 lbs but I know that is impossible since we have to do it the healthy way and of course a big No No to crash diets. So to make it realistic we agreed to loose 10 lbs from the current weight so that would be 136 lbs. I was in for a challenge. –which of course deserves a separate post hihihi….anyway, I immediately said YES! And I made a promise to myself that I will win! Well, I have to WIN!  After accepting the challenge, the next question is what should I do to win? How am I going to loose weight?

My good friend Nancy of Paper Flair introduced me to Atkins diet. It was the perfect! This is the perfect diet plan that I’ve been looking for. I can loose weight safely without having to crash diet. It was not hard at all since I happen to love salads and vegetables; I just really have to stay away from carbs. The first two weeks was a little tough since I love to eat rice! And when I say I love to eat rice I actually meant I can eat 2-3 cups of rice per meal hahaha! Then from 3^rd week onwards was just easy peasy. I started to loose weight exactly on the 11^th day of the program, at first I lost 3 lbs…then 4 lbs on my 18^th day…and so on…there are times that I didn’t loose any pound when I checked the scale but when I checked my waist line, arms and thigh, I noticed that I lost a few inches. From time to time, I also do Zumba because I think the program will work better if you accompany it with exercise. I was able to survive for 3 months. 

This is the new and improved me at 130 lbs. I know I am still 5 lbs overweight but hey, if I was able to loose 16 lbs in just 7 weeks, I can loose the other 5 lbs in no time.  This photo was taken December 6, 2011 @ our QA Xmas party.

Bottom Line:  I realized that crash/ fad diets don’t work. The results are temporary you’ll just gain the pounds you’ve lost - times two! LOL.  You have to change your lifestyle and eating habit if you want permanent result. It truly feels good to be healthy and light.

By the way I took a quick break from Atkins program (2 months) because of the Holiday season – Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year. I still follow the program but I occasionally eat rice, pasta and cakes. I actually gained 4 lbs but I am not worried all people gains weight after the holidays right? And with all the stuff I ate, I was actually surprised that I only gained 4 lbs hihihi. I’m already preparing for the program this week; I want my body to be ready for another round of Atkins Program. Don’t worry, I will keep you all posted with my progress. Guess Who's Back?

Hello Dolls! Sorry for the lack of update, I know I owe you a lot of updates; it’s just that I’ve been really busy during the Holidays plus my blooming baking career. Yes, you read it right! My baking career is blooming and I am really giddy and excited to tell you more about it really soon.   

Oh gosh, I really miss all of you specially the blogs that I follow. But I did try my best to check your posts once in a while whenever I get a free time but it was not enough. But all of that is going to change. This 2012, I will make sure to try to post regularly…hmmn one blog post every month is still considered regular right? Hahaha! But seriously, I will try my very best to update regularly and catch up. I think that would be my one and only New Year’s resolution. J

I know it’s already late but hey, it’s still January and late is better than not greeting you at all hihihi…Belated Merry Christmas and Belated Happy New Year and of course, Belated Happy Chinese New Year!  

My Ultimate WishList for 2011

At first I wanted to have a white iPhone 4s until I saw Samsung's Galaxy SII. It was love at first sight! I've been bugging Sweets for months already, telling him I really like the phone, I wish to own a white Galaxy S2, I wish I could buy it for Christmas and so on....

So there...for now I have to keep on wishing....

Welcome to the Big 3-0!

I always look forward for December, its my most favorite month of the year and I think every body else' too! Aside from having Holidays like Christmas and New Year, what makes it more special is because its my birth month...I'm a December baby...yeah!

I have a lot of things...reasons...people to be thankful for. The Lord continued to shower me with enormous blessings for the past 30 years. I have a wonderful Mommy and Daddy who loves me unconditionally and played a very important role in my life. If it weren't for them I won't be here. I am proud and happy with how they raised me and my sister. Yes, we are a small family but LOVE is very big in our home. :) Even if Daddy is already gone, he is still in our hearts and we still feel his Love and we know he is always with us...watching over us. Aside from family, I am also surrounded with trustworthy, loyal and caring Friends who've been with me for more than a decade, you guys know who you are. And of course, office mates and colleagues who became my friends along the way...you see..I am very blessed because wherever I go, I always meet new people with good souls and I look forward for more years of friendship with each and every one of them. I also have my Sweets - my better half, I am truly blessed for having him in my life. He's one of the most supportive and patient person I have ever met and he always brings out the best in me.

To my fellow sassy bloggers, FB friends, classmates and colleagues and for those that I forgot to mention...Thank you for making my day extra special. My 30th was special not because of the gifts, but because of the friendship, kindness and thoughtfulness that you've shared with me. Again, thank you! Cheers! :)

Age is just a number...I may be 30 but in my ♥ I will always be forever 16♥♥♥ naks! ☺

Missha Goodies

In my previous post, I mentioned that my sister went out of the country for a short vacation right? But I forgot to tell you the goodies she brought home with her for me. She told me that when she was at a mall she saw a huge Missha store and because she remembered me repeatedly telling her before that I would love to try Missha BB creams because I've been hearing a lot of great reviews about it...she immediately went inside and explored the store...she told me that there were a lot of BB creams to choose from and she didn't know where to start looking hahaha! Do We Really Need to have a Good Credit Score?

If you are one of my loyal readers, most of you know that I work in a BPO company for almost nine years already and I have transferred from one department to another, you all know that it is very stressful working in call centers and from all of the departments that I had worked with, I can definitely tell you that the most challenging role was when I moved to Fraud department. For those who do not know what we exactly do here, we simple handle any type of calls related to Identity theft, Stolen Credit cards and unauthorized charges; all these three all leads to one thing, it could give you bad credit.  I think people should be very wary with their credit rating, because it plays an important role in our finances. Companies these days would check a person’s credit scores first before they approve your credit cards, loans, just like Mortgage companies; they want to make sure you have the means and ability to pay. Even in terms of employment, most Employers would check the applicant’s credit scores and use it as a basis in their assessment.

People should keep it in mind that keeping a good credit score can help us keep track of our finances but I do understand that most of the time we tend to be very busy that we forget to check it regularly, but the good thing is that there are a lot of sites that offers free credit score that would help us manage not just our credits but also gives us online security against identity theft.

Moon Cake Festival

Today we are celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival which is also known as MoonCake Festival or Chinese Lantern Festival. This holiday is celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese families. The festival is usually held every 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar so that would be around September or October therefore, this year it is today, September 12. However, in Hongkong, they officially celebrate it the day after the Festival which would be tomorrow.

Here in the Philippines, the festival is very popular among Filipino Chinese families. One way of celebrating this festive holiday is to have a family and friends gathering, play the famous Dice game and eat mooncake afterwards.  But don't ask me for the details of the dice game since it has been more than 10 years since I last played the game, but I guarantee you it's pretty fun and exciting. :) But anyway, what I truly enjoy during the holiday are the Mooncakes!

Mooncake is a Chinese pastry wherein it has a thick yummy filling of lotus seed paste, then in the middle part inside it contains a yolk of a salted duck eggs which symbolizes full moon.

A few weeks ago my sister went to Hongkong for a short vacation and I am happy and pleased that she bought home some ♥Mooncakes♥

1.  I super Love dogs, in fact I have 8:

 Roxy - She's a Rottweiler and she is the sweetest of all and she only listens to me bwahaha!

    Duchess - She's also a Rottweiler and she is Roxy's little girl but I guess we can no longer say she's little LOLs. She's the curious one, whenever you touch something or you do something she will always snoop around the things you've touched when you're no longer around.

   

Cotton - She's a Japanese Spitz and she is so white as a cotton that is why we called her cotton. 

   Snow White - She's half Japanese Spitz and half Maltese but she looks more of a maltese. She's the energetic one, she always jump, run, jump, run, jump and so on...She just can't get tired.

   Bubbles - She's a Lhasa Apso and I call her the Jumper. She jumps a lot and she can jump really really high..and she loves to eat Cornflakes and roasted chicken. 

   Chico - He's a half Lhasa Apso and a  half Shih Tzu. He's the jealous and moody one. He can really be sweet but he wants to be the only one who have your attention. If you play with the other dogs, he'll get jealous and he will just sit at the corner of the room facing the wall, even if you call him he will just pretend to not hear you at all. 

   Ernie - He's a mongrel (askal) but he's the OC one. He doesn't like to get his paws wet but he loves to take a bath, he is a very picky eater too. He loves to eat dog food, rice and  sinigang. He hates carrots and cabbage. 

  Mallows - She is the newest member of the family. She's only a month old and she is Bubble's little pup. She is a mix breed of Lhasa Apso (Bubbles) and a Shih Tzu. She's they playful one and she loves to lick feet and slippers. Her name is mallows because she reminds me of chocolate mallows. 

I wish I have all of their pictures to show you but I don't have them saved in my PC right now. :( I only have Chico and Bubbles) I  will just show it to you all some other time, okay?

2.  I am a huge Old School Rock and Roll fan. I guess it is because of Daddy's influence. He is a rocker! \m/

3.  This is going to be a big revelation: Way back in Highschool I was a CAT Officer. I know I don't look like one and if I'm going to tell some of my friends who didn't know me since high school I know they will NEVER believe me.  Sorry guys but I really have to cover my face with an apple since I really look hideous with the uniform...I seriously hate it. I can't believe I have a copy of the picture too! I guess I have to burn this afterwards LOL

4.  I love anything Corn - Corncob, popcorns, kernel corns...I love them! But popcorns are my favorite :)

5.  I cannot drive wearing slippers or any flat shoes, I need to wear anything with heels probably around one inch and above but not lower than that. 

6. Some people are hooked on watching Asian Dramas but for me its different --its watching Anime. I am a huge anime fan. And my top two favorites are: Naruto and Bleach. I never fail to download their new episodes every week...they're really addicting. I even have a collection of Naruto action figures hihihi.

Punk Rock Brushies :)

As of last week  (a month now) I am now a proud owner of Charm Travel Pro v3 Brush set. It was really hard for me to decide if I should buy this set instead of The Charm Pro Brush but because of the cute hot pink/black design of the brushes I can't help but give in to temptation. The color combination is really cute it has a girly girl feel but with an edge -  more like a punk rock princess theme. Somehow it reminded me of my very first blog.  That is why I'm calling these babies - Punk Rock Brushies :)


Everybody has a weakness...If Superman's weakness is Kryptonite, I have one too! Chinadoll's weakness is anything P-I-N-K! 


I might do a review about these brushes but let's see if time permits it. But just to let you all know, these brushes are really worth it and I am loving every single brush in fact I'm using it everyday. The stippling brush is my favorite among all of the brushes and I have been using it to apply BB creams since I'm not into liquid foundation and speaking of BB cream, I have a new favorite BB cream and I would love to tell you all about it...soon. :)

Advanced Cake Decoration Class

If you are one of my beloved readers, most of you know that I have a huge ♥♥♥ for baked goodies: Cakes, Cupcakes, cookies and other heavenly desserts. I admit I am no expert and I still have a lot to learn that is why I am making things happen one at a time. Recently I just finished Master Cake Decorating Class and now I am taking things to the next level. I want to learn how do fondant and sugar paste that is why I enrolled for Advanced Cake Decorating Class at Emelita W. Galang Culinary Arts Studio.

The course consists of 8 half day sessions which will be held weekly. I already finished 2 sessions so I have 6 more to go. Here are some pictures taken from Mrs.Galang's facebook page.
